Let’s talk about the Daimler 2.5 Litre V8 which is a 2548cc sedan from 1962. Came from England, it was a high performance luxury car and scored a huge fan base quickly among “rich boys”. It was quite similar to the Jaguar Mk1 series with some slight differences in mechanics. It incorporated the same SP250 engine and its excellent power unit enabled it to lift far more weight on front wheels as compared to heavy jaguar engine.

Made for people born with a silver spoon in their mouth, Daimler did not offer manual transmission. It offered automatic transmission. There were three speeds in automatic transmission. Due to the SP250 engine, the car was the best combination of high performance and compliance. It was equipped with power assisted disc type brakes. The engine worked very smoothly and efficiently.

Now let’s have a look on the interior of the Daimler V8. Each and every piece of interior was set very logically and contributed to the sophistication of the car. The speedometer and tachometer were fixed right in front of the driving seat. The dials were spaced across the center of the dash. The labeled switches were visible under the dials. The dial of the transmission selector illuminated automatically when ignition was on. Then there was a map light, courtesy lights and another light which got on automatically when glove box was opened. The steering was of recirculating ball type and was really comfortable to handle.

Daimler V8 had electric washers and there were two speeds for wipers. The dashboard lights alerted driver if low hydraulic fluid level or engaged hand brakes were detected. The doors had high quality vinyl material. For comfortable seating, each door was equipped with armrests. There was a folding armrest in the centre of the back bench.

The door capping was covered with polished wood which looked very sophisticated. The floor was covered with high quality carpets. The driving seat was made very comfortable and was designed in such a way with adjustable steering and reclining squab that driver of any size can fit in easily. Three people can be seated easily on the back bench. The back area was quite spacious providing enough leg room for the travelers.

The Daimler V8 was designed in such a way that it looks smaller than it actually was. Its length was about 15 ft and width was 5 ft 6.75 inches. The height measured 4 ft 8.5 inches. The weight of the car was about 30 cwt. The back window was not that much big but gave sufficient view to driver while reversing. The car was capable of running at 75 mph all the day long. Its top speed was maximum 106 mph. The first gear gave speed of 42 mph, second gear gave speed of 74 mph and third or top gear gave speed of 106 mph. The wheels were equipped with servo discs. It is equipped with a mechanism that allows driver to detect easily gradual transition from under steer to over steer. The fuel consumption in Daimler V8 was from 18 to 20 mpg.

Hello International Scout fans! My name is Mike Douglas and I used to head up the Palm Springs California Scout owners club. I am international Scout owner, enthusiast, and restoration fanatic! Whether or not you currently own a Scout or you’re just looking for information on a Scout I welcome you to this website as a great place to share information and car insurance comparison ideas about this instant classic the Scout.

My first government help out was in 1977 Scout II orange with the classic white stripes on the side since then I have owned over 13 wow gold different scouts and have tried to collect one from each model line. Currently on my garage and Bankruptcy Palm Springs California I have nine different models all of them are read store to fantastic cherry condition and all of them can be driven on a daily basis.

International Harvester Scout was one of the first American political generation utility vehicle (SUV). He was originally created as a competitor to the Jeep, and similar vehicles, the first model with a folding windshield. First and second generation Scout scout made the second generation two-door car with a half-cab pickup option or a removable hard top or soft full. Scouts built 1961-1980 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

There were several production models of spectators:

Scout 80/800 (1961-1971): The first production model (the original Ford Bronco was inspired by this version).
Scout 810 (1971): A Scout 810 Scout II Part contains a label for you.
Scout II (1971-1980): the standard production model later or soft removable hardtop (100 in wheelbase).
Scout II Terra virility ex (1976-1980): light truck version (118 in wheelbase).
Scout II Traveler (1976-1980): This version had a Relevant Life Policy removable fiberglass roof, third row of seats optional (118 in wheelbase).
Soft-top Safari II (SSII) (1977-1979): The model has a removable canvas doors, roll bar, soft top. Soft-top model is labeled Safari «SSII» by marketing people see. As a result, consumers are generally unaware of the actual name “soft top Safari”. Eventually the “SS” letters should stand for “Super Scout”, the name of the model is called today.
International Harvester was building trucks, pickups and Travelalls later due 1907. End of 1950, from project planning to produce cars to compete with the Jeep CJ. Until late 1960 the first Scout is available: Scout 80, with the 1961 model year.
According to Ted ORNAS, chief designers of the spectators,

“… The potential market for four-wheel-drive vehicle was time for an unknown amount in early 1950. The car offered as the result of the war Willys jeep, a version of army jeeps produced for World War II. That is a flat-sided bare-bones product, and the U.S. Army to evaluate the ability to maneuver over rough terrain. Sales volumes are very low. Early in 1958, which is allocated denver car accident lawyer to develop the idea of a bid to enter the market at that time. Help me, then, Mr. Reece, engineering director, said: “One thing is planning to replace the horse.” Is not specify a product used as a guide. Also it is suggested to use the tool body Henry J. died. Body surface is too much parking for this type of vehicle. The Jeep is believed to be properly displayed. We design sketches with the flat side, not our border ever excited by the Executive Council. The program began to die. One night, while sitting at our kitchen table (frustration, despair), I jumped out of a rough sketch on a piece of scrap mat board. Parties are designed for plastic gears. The next morning as if a committee member. CrossFit Denver This revised controlled enthusiasm, but a matter of life programs. We’re off. Goodyear offers lots of plastic parts for World War II produced a large group of engineering plastics. We plan to scale models with vacuum is created to simulate body assembly. This model takes the management of authorization to display. By July 1959, Goodyear completed bid, and because of high costs, plastic program is canceled. At outline design stage met with the approval of the executive decision to change the design of the steel body. Since the end of July 1959 in a complete model of the material, size, finished in November 1959, paint ball were approved. Looking back, it is a remarkable program with fast engineering development and production. The total duration of 24 months development is a heroic operation considering the concept is unique and not Indoors or production machines are available or considered when the program started.

“The first Scout was introduced in 1960. The idea to replace it since 1964 have been approved to produce mid-1965. The second Scout was introduced in 1971.
